Although all the courses are tailor made, some schools who have not been before like to see the types of weeks that can be offered. So below are links to a selection of weeks that can easily be delivered or adapted to the needs of the individual school. John Muir Week. This is a week with an environmental focus weeks that cumulates in a certificate being sent to school directly from the John Muir Trust, of which we are a registered course provider. For more details of the award please use the following link www.johnmuiraward.org Arts week. A week of traditional and modern arts, using a variety of mediums, in different sizes and styles. Medieval History Week. A week investigating the ways the Tudors lived in a practical way. Making a wattle and daub panelled shelter, visiting relevant sites, eating Tudor style food and investigating the needs of settlements. Team Week. A big focus on working in groups, pairs and discovering new talents. Science Week. A week of looking at habitats, food chain, adaptations, forces, rocks and soils, separating mixtures, life cycles and micro-organisms. Water week. Looking at the geography and science of water, from stream and river studies to working and finding the sources of rivers. We can do work on the Water-cycle and a focus on the sustainable issues of water and it's conservation. Lots of practical activities. Navigation and Camp craft Week. A series of challenges that introduces the children into maps, navigation and camping skills. The children will be taken through a course that will aim to gain the children a National Navigation Award and the experience of camping out. |
